Recommended dose
The normal level is about 1 gram (1000mg) extract powder each day for the average adult.
Safety of long-term use
Both toxicity and teratogenic studies have been performed. Toxicity studies were unable to find a toxic level of BIOLANE. Expected results
Usually four to six weeks after starting the capsules, but this differs for individuals. Some people take anti-inflammatories in those early weeks and taper this off as the BIOLANE takes effect.
Contraindications
BIOLANE has been on the market for almost 30 years with no serious side effects having been reported. However, anyone with an allergy to seafood or requiring medications for which seafood is contraindicated should avoid BIOLANE. People on a completely salt-free diet should also avoid using BIOLANE because it contains small amounts of natural sea salts. Availability
